670nm Deep Red Light refers to light with a wavelength of 670 nanometers, situated near the far end of the visible red light spectrum.

It is widely utilized in photobiomodulation (PBM)—commonly known as red light therapy—due to its unique ability to interact directly with human cells at a mitochondrial level.

How It Works: The Cellular Mechanism

Unlike UV rays (which damage cells) or far-infrared (which generates heat), 670nm light acts as a photochemical stimulus:

1. Absorption by Mitochondria: Photons at 670nm are specifically absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase (CCO), a primary enzyme in the mitochondrial respiratory chain.
